We hosted a happy hour party last week at home and had a blast. Why go out for happy hour when you can host like a boss, and celebrate the end of the work week with good friends in the comfort of your home? We set up a bar station on a side of the backyard where homemade cocktails and non-alcoholic raspberry lemonades were served. I love the new collection of bar carts from Target, and this simple, chic and minimal one was a conversation piece among our guests.
We also arranged the backyard like an indoor living space : a resin outdoor sofa with some mixed and matched patterned pillows, a simple outdoor coffee table, and everything we need to munch on : simple but tasty summer food; a mascarpone, tomato and arugula pizza, some watermelon slices, and a few prosciutto and cantaloupe bites on sticks. Mister French By Design prepared a “Gin Daisy” cocktail and we also had non-alcoholic raspberry lemonades served in rustic mason jars. The string lights in the background added a magical effect at sunset.
Because the ambiance was so laid back and easy-going, everyone stayed a little longer and we decided to do an impromptu s’mores session. I had planned a couple of throws in case the weather would be cold and they were put to great use as the happy hour extended through the evening. Happy hour everyone! Xo, Si-
