Today, I wanted to share with you an exclusive room tour. It’s the bedroom of 5-year-old Jules, in Angoulême, France. I visited his family for How the French Live, but I was blown away by this little guy’s room and the efforts and love put into it. So I’m sharing some exclusive images that never made it to the final book selection but are still filled with inspiration and ideas to steal. Welcome to Jules’ room!
Jules’ dad, Romain, installed a strip of wallpaper from French brand Kisikol. Loanah, Jules’ mom, added lots of cozy textures through linen bedding accessories and a few design pieces, such as this adorable mushroom lamp from Egmont Toys or the iconic Eero Aarnio Magis Dalmatian Puppy seat/sculpture by the chimney.
And then, there is the desk area. Loanah painted a retro looking green chalkboard and scouted a vintage desk and factory bins (similar, here) to store all of Jules’ treasures. When Jules is done playing with his small part toys, he can easily store them back and keep his room accessible for the next play session. I adore the big pompoms on the corner that play with the blue and green hues of this room’s corner.
Jules’ room is a stellar example that you can have a stylish and practical kid’s room. What do you think? Which part of Jules’ room is your favorite?
