While in Paris, I noticed a lot of stores carrying faux-tile rugs, and these mats were literally flying off the shelves. Made out of vinyl, these colorful rugs and mats look like tiles, are washable and instantly add a pop of fun and a vintage charm without any long-term commitment. I’m sold.

One of the main companies designing such vinyl/ PVC mats is Beija Flor. Beija Flor is a lifestyle brand based in Northern Israel and established by Designer Maya Kounievsky. Beija Flor rugs can be purchased online directly through the Beija site, or in stores such as Fleux, a Parisian design store that sells online and ships worldwide.

  1. These photos are certainly pretty. Do the mats feel nice, or are they plastic-y? I haven’t seen them around here yet (it takes time for fashions to head south from Paris). But then, we have lots of the real tiles.

    1. They feel really soft to the touch, kinda like placemats with a satin finish to it, @Taste of France. Xo, Si-
