Another beautiful interior with lots of ideas to steal and get inspired from… Today, we’re visiting the gorgeous loft of Marika Chaumet, architect, in Montreuil.
The space was originally a knitting factory, and when Marika took over the space a few years ago, she knew she had a lot of work to do : everything was renovated, but with one main challenge : keep the spirit of the era, and give this space a homey feel without making it look like “new”. Wooden floors were removed, piece by piece, and relocated in another room, doors were custom made to replicate 1930s era doors, and furniture, like the dining room table, were thrifted and updated with casters. And then Marika added her final touches : the light fixtures over the dining table fro example were brought back from a trip to Bangkok, Thailand. I love the overall “chalet” vibe on this space, don’t you?
