A renovated Paris flat

Love me some yummy house tour, especially with chevron wooden floors and great Haussmannian features. This apartment made my heart skip a bit, and I immediately felt transported in the heart of the city of lights. I love how Belgium-based interior design and architectural firm Desiron Lizen kept many of the original building features intact, yet added some strong modern elements, such as wooden panels in the kitchen. I am also seriously drooling over the ceiling moldings – and I’ll take 4 of these lovely ‘Pretzel’ chairs, please and thank you.

If you fancy seeing the ‘before’ pictures of this fantastic remodeling project, head over here. The transformation is simply amazing.

What’s your favorite feature in this apartment?

      1. Hello Joy,

  1. Hi Si:

I love this apartment! This, as well as other living spaces you choose to feature inspire me to try new looks. At the place I am at in trying new things, I would have picked the all wooden casual dining chair, the fireplace mantle, and the leather brown chairs in the living room, and oh, the rug. I think I would need the eyes of Si to help me put together the rest of this beautiful living space. I’m trying new things and wanting to keep only the things I really love in my space now. It’s a fun journey! Thank’s for the inspirations.

    1. Aww, you are so sweet! I am very happy to read that you find inspiration through my blog and the interiors shared here. Thanks for the love, Dianne! Xx-

  2. I love the simple renovation. The features of this apartment by themselves do everything for it, you don’t need to charge it with decoration or too much style. I miss these apartments in Paris (and I guess this is truly the only thing I miss of my hometown for 15 years ;-) xx

    1. Oh, how I agree with you! I would kill to live in a haussmannian flat. The volumes, the mouldings, the ‘parquet’. I never realized how lucky I was when I lived in a tiny flat with all these details above my head or beneath my feet when I was a student in Paris. Pffff… ;-)

  3. Lovin that colourful chandelier does anyone know where it’s from? Love this apartment !! Xx

  4. Moi c’est le lustre avec les appâts de pêche, trop joli!! Et aussi la façon de dissimuler les radiateurs.

  5. Great place! Some say mostly white interiors are too much work to keep neat and clean, but I’ve found it’s the exact opposite – in my experience this is a lot easier to maintain, and it looks presentable without too much work. Not that I’d use the word “presentable” for this – this place is stunning!

  6. I love the nordic touches – Alvar Aalto vases, Eero Saarinen Tulip table, and Arne Jacobsen Egg chair.

  7. What’s not to love here??? bold courage, good taste and good old fashioned craftsmanship… I love it!!!
