While in Tokyo, I visited the showroom of porcelain designer Yumiko Iihoshi. The showroom was rather difficult to find, a second floor space in a co-op building and I had to ask 3 different people for help to finally find the right building – and not speaking a word of Japanese, let me just say that this was a pretty epic adventure !
I loved the clean lines of Yumiko‘s porcelain, the grain in the final product and the simple mineral hues. I fell for a few pieces, but could have bought much more if I was not limited by my hand luggage travel issues. I got a tea/coffee cup, a mat finish rectangular plate, a grey bowl and a wonderful kitchen towel. After all, it was my birthday week! ;-)
