After the summer hair inspiration post I did last week, many of you asked me about summer make up inspiration. I’m no expert of course, but in summer, the same rule applies for me both to make up and hair : the less time spent dealing with it, the better. Who wants to spend hours putting make up on after a day outdoors, when your skin looks refreshed and glowing, to take it off after a couple of hours when your party is over? I rarely cover my skin with primer or liquid foundation – and never in summer – I prefer to apply a compact powder to highlight my summer skin and add sometimes a touch of gold or shimmer loose powder effect on my upper cheekbone. As a rule, I either highlight my eyes and put a very light or sheer lipstick, or vice versa; if the eyes are soft and very nude, the lips are highlighted with a bold red color. Here are a few of my favorite summer make up looks.
A: I love the cat eyes achieved with a thin line of liquid eye liner. The lips are kept low-key in a soft pink shade.
B: Because the eye make up is kept natural, the lips are highlighted in a bold dragon red tone. My favorite is Chanel’s Rouge Coco Gabrielle [#19]
C: What a glowing skin, thanks to a sheer, light catching skin make up. I use the Benefit High Beam Complexion Enhancer to achieve this result or the Chanel’s Poudre Universelle Compacte, which has a very soft shimmer effect.
D: A touch of coral on the lips, and you instantly look like a star. My favorite summer lip shade when I want to keep a natural look and get the glossy lip effect is Clarins Color Quench lip balm in the sweet papaya shade
